Digital video Scotland Tartan design video wall for Apex Hotels, split over 3 HD flat panel displays.

A collection of 1 minute digital video tartan design backdrops (series of 20). Each piece slowly builds from the core tartan design by animating the tartan pattern warp & wefts (the vertical and horizontal lines that interweave to form the overall design).

Each tartan is associated with a famous Scottish person, ranging from inventors to comedians. The final pieces have a description overlayed with tartan name, famous person & their accolade.

Above example overlay:

TARTAN ‘DUNLOP’ JOHN BOYD DUNLOP
John Boyd Dunlop (1840–1921), born in Scotland, was the inventor who in 1887 developed the first practical pneumatic or inflatable tyre for his son's tricycle.
